Slater and Gordon trek raises over £1,000 for Finding Your Feet

A team from Slater and Gordon completed their own version of the Inca Trail in Scotland to help raise vital funds for a charity which supports families with limb loss.

The firm’s Scotland office took part in a ‘Seven Hills of Edinburgh’ expedition, covering 26 miles – the same distance as the Inca Trail in Machu Picchu – and a gruelling 943 meters of ascent.

They are raising money for Finding Your Feed – a charity marking its 10th anniversary by taking part in the Inca Trail 6,000 miles away in Peru.

While the Slater and Gordon team have not been able to join charity founder Cor Hutton in Machu Picchu, they have shown their support for the work of Finding Your Feet closer to home by completing the challenge simultaneously, raising over £1,000 in the process.

Finding Your Feet helps families affected by amputation or limb absence across Scotland, supporting them to access activities and services to benefit fitness, mental health and personal growth.

Sarah McWhirter, principal lawyer at Slater and Gordon in Scotland, said: “Finding Your Feet plays such an important role in supporting families affected by limb loss, bringing people together to tackle many of the barriers they face in their lives. We are really pleased to be able to support the team’s work.

“While sadly we couldn’t join Cor and the Finding Your Feet team in Peru, we were by their sides across the miles, tackling a route that is probably no less hilly in Edinburgh. Whether walking or running, our team were fantastic in their commitment to completing the challenge.”
