Solicitor and QC among new SLCC members
Denise Loney and Kay Springham QC have been appointed to the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission.
Ms Loney (pictured right) is a solicitor in practice with a background in civil litigation. She has served as a member of the Scottish Legal Aid Board and was a convenor of the Scottish Services Cases Committee. She was also a member of a Law Society of Scotland client relations sub-committee dealing with complaints against solicitors.
The Scottish Government said that Ms Springham (pictured right), with experience of a wide range of civil cases, had a good understanding of the service which lawyers were expected to provide to clients.
“She also has a particular interest in human rights and equality which she hopes will help her contribution to the work of the SLCC,” it added.
The other appointments were Sara Hesp, a qualified chartered surveyor and Sarah Mcluckie, operations manager for the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland.
