SPICe blog looks at fireworks legislation
The Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe) has published a blog with an up-to-date overview of fireworks legislation, including the parts of the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Act 2022 that are currently in force.
It highlights the parts of the Act relating to fireworks licensing and restricting the days of supply, and use of fireworks, that still aren’t in force, and potentially might not be until 2026.
It also highlights that only Glasgow and Edinburgh have used the legislation to set up firework control zones this year.
