Stirling siblings become solicitors together
A pair of siblings from Stirling have been admitted as Scottish solicitors on the same day, according to the Law Society of Scotland.
Hannah Fitzgibbon, 28, and Joe Fitzgibbon, 25, marked the beginning of their exciting respective careers in law at the Law Society of Scotland’s most recent admissions ceremony in the Playfair Library in Edinburgh.
Hannah and Joe both attended Dollar Academy. Hannah went on to study at Edinburgh University, while Joe studied at the University of Glasgow.
Hannah now works as a private client solicitor at Stuart & Stuart in Edinburgh, while Joe is set to start at Shepherd and Wedderburn in Glasgow at the end of the month.
Christine McLintock, president of the Law Society of Scotland, said: “Hannah and Joe should be proud of their focus and determination over the past few years. A career as a Scottish solicitor can bring exciting challenges and great opportunities.
“Whatever they choose to do next, they now share the badge of Scottish solicitor with over 11,000 of their peers who work in communities across Scotland, elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
“They have had a world-class legal education, meeting the accreditation standards set by the Law Society, and their hard-won qualification is highly respected by employers and lawyers all over the world.”
