Sudden death of Argyll lawyer
Argyll lawyer Ruben Murdanaigum has passed away after collapsing in the street.
Originally from Mauritius, where he grew up in poverty, Mr Murdanaigum qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 1980 and founded his own practice, Rubens Solicitors, in 2000.
Prior to establishing his practice, he served as a fiscal depute in Paisley and lectured on human rights law in Turkey. He often travelled to Barbados, where he planned to retire.
He collapsed in Lochgilphead, where his office was based, and could not be revived despite the efforts of passers-by and paramedics, the Argyll Advertiser reports.
