SULI conference Reflections on Scots Law to be held this August

The Scottish Universities Law Institute (SULI) is hosting conference later this year entitled Reflections on Scots Law.

The conference will feature presentations by SULI authors and will either be on Zoom or held in-person at the University of Strathclyde.

The following will be covered at the conference:

  • ‘“A mouse in bed with an elephant?”: synthesising Scottish and English sources’, Laura Macgregor, Edinburgh University
  • ‘How accessory is a Guarantee?’, Jonathan Hardman, Edinburgh University
  • ‘Will the Covid-19 pandemic have lasting effects on judicial review?’, Denis Edwards, Faculty of Advocates and Stephen Thomson, City University of Hong Kong
  • ‘Planning Law in Scotland, Finally Fit for Purpose?’, Mark Poustie, University College Cork
  • ‘Scottish criminal procedure: developing a normative framework’, Pamela Ferguson, Dundee University
  • ‘Reconstructing the Scottish Law of causation in criminal cases’, James Chalmers and Fiona Leverick, Glasgow University
  • ‘Sentencing Law and Practice’, Graeme Brown, Durham University

The format of the conference will be confirmed no later than 30th July 2021.
