SYLA criminal conference hailed a success
The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association’s annual Criminal Day Conference has been hailed a success. The event was sponsored by the Scottish Criminal Bar Association (SCBA) and took place in Edinburgh on Saturday.The conference included a number of high profile speakers from the SCBA. Thomas Ross lectured on “30 years of Advocacy Errors” and Claire Mitchell on “Exceptional Hardship: Conduct of Proof and Views of the Appeal Court”.Brian McConnachie QC provided an “Update on the Law of Mutual Corroboration/Moorov” and John Scullion QC spoke on “Submissions in a Criminal Trial”.Frances McMenamin QC provided a “Update on Vulnerable Witnesses”. Susan Duff addressed delegates on “Criminal Practice: Really Useful Things to Know” and Tony Lenehan discussed “20 Things You Thought You Knew About Criminal Law!”
