SYLA Event: So you want to be a Family Lawyer?
The latest instalment in the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association (SYLA) “So you want to be” series is “So you want to be a Family Lawyer?”
The seminar will give an insight into the daily life of family lawyers, and is kindly hosted by Lindsays.
Lindsays partner Alison McKee and solicitor Pamela Dobson, from Lindsays’ award-winning family law team, will speak at the event.
Ms McKee heads the family law team. She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Family Law and Child Law and has over 19 years of experience and has worked exclusively in the areas of family and child law for the past 12 years. Whilst trained in litigation, she is also trained in collaborative law. She is a member of the Family Law Association, the Scottish Collaborative Family Law Group and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
Ms Dobson is a solicitor in the family law team and has particular experience in child and mental health law. She has provided advice and represented clients in mental health tribunals, children’s panels as well as contact and residence disputes and permanence and freeing for adoption applications. She is a curator ad litem for the mental health tribunal for Scotland.
The seminar will be held at 6pm (with registration from 5.30pm) on 27 March, Caledonia Exchange, 19A Canning Street, Edinburgh, EH3 8HE.
The seminar will close with a Q&A session, followed by networking and refreshments.
