SYLA events lift curtain on life of in-house lawyers and advocates
Aspiring in-house lawyers, advocates and solicitor advocates will benefit from the latest events announced in a series organised by the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association.
So you want to be an in-house lawyer and So you want to be an advocate/solicitor advocate will walk aspiring lawyers through the lives of those working in the respective fields while counting for 1 hour CPD each.
The in-house lawyer event on 2 June 2015, hosted in conjunction with the in-house lawyers group of the Law Society of Scotland, will give SYLA members a flavour of what life is like in-house.
Graeme McWilliams from Standard Life will chair the event, which welcomes a panel including John Paterson from the Scottish Government, Stephen Swan from Edinburgh Airport and Ewan Cameron from Standard Life.
The advocate/solicitor advocate event on 11 June 2015 features Andrew Crawford and Sarah Livingstone from the Faculty of Advocates, along with Chris Dickson, solicitor-advocate at Anderson Strathern, and one of the criminal partners at Dunipace Brown.
The broad collective practice areas of the speakers means the SYLA is hoping there will be something for everyone with an interest in advocacy.
Both events will be followed by Q&As and refreshments.
Free tickets can be reserved via EventBrite.
