SYLA to host European Young Bar Association Spring Conference, including ceilidh and black tie dinner

The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association (SYLA) is to host the European Young Bar Association’s Spring Conference in Glasgow between 23 and 26 April 2020.

The topics for this year’s conference are technology and the environment. They will be considered both as areas of the law and as issue effecting the practice of young lawyers.

The conference will begin with a welcome reception on the Thursday evening.

Seminars will begin on Friday morning before a short visit to Edinburgh in the afternoon. A ceilidh will take place at the University of Glasgow on the Friday evening.

Further seminars will take place on Saturday morning before the general meeting of the EYBA.

The conference will conclude with a black tie gala dinner and dance at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday night.

Further specifics on timings and titles of talks will be provided in advance of the event.

Three ticket types are available:

Full conference and social – entry to all aspects of the conference including seminars and social events

Social only – Entry to the welcome reception, ceilidh and gala dinner

Conference only – Entry to all seminars but no social events

For SYLA members the conference will count for up to 8 hours’ CPD. Those practising in other jurisdictions should contact their local association for information in this respect.
