Tea with a Supreme Court justice up for grabs in pupil essay competition
The UK Supreme Court is holding its first ever essay competition, open to year 12 and 13 school pupils (S5 and 6) from across the UK, with the top prize including tea with a justice.
Have you recently been on a tour of the UK Supreme Court with your school? Did your visit spark an interest in the law? Are you considering studying law at university? Or perhaps you have a general interest in how the justice system works here in the UK.
If you are a year 12 or 13 pupil in the UK and the answer to any of these questions is yes, you might be interested in entering the first ever UK Supreme Court Student Writing Competition.
Put your knowledge of the law and skills of persuasion to the test by arguing for or against a point of law of your choice from the information pack below. The final winners will be chosen by a Supreme Court justice.
Prizes for the top placed entries are:
• First place: £100 book voucher, spend a day at the Supreme Court and have tea with a justice.
• Second place: £75 book voucher.
• Third place: £50 book voucher.
See the information pack below for more information about the competition and how to enter. The final winners will be chosen by one of the Supreme Court justices.
