Team Blackadders to raise vital funds for CHAS
A team from Blackadders LLP is raising money for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).
The charity provides care for Scottish children and young people with life-shortening conditions. Jade Crawford, trainee solicitor at the firm will forever be indebted to the staff at CHAS. Jade’s nephew, Calum, had a severe brain injury at birth, resulting in cerebral palsy. Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross offered support to Jade and her family through home visits, care and respite. Sadly Calum passed away at the age of six. But the team at Rachel House were able to support the family, moving Calum to a special room to allow them to care for him after his death and remain a family for as long as possible.
Jade said: “The CHAS team were there, every step of the way, helping us process what had happened, even assisting with the funeral.”
She and 16 other brave souls are walking from St Andrews to Dundee (over 20 miles) on Sunday, whilst wearing a kilt, in aid of CHAS. Jade is captaining a team of girls (Blackadders’ Barbies) and employment law partner, Simon Allison, is captaining the team of boys (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Sprints).
If you can spare any money for this worthy cause, please contribute here. Similarly, if you can offer any words of encouragement or even some blister packs, the team would appreciate it. They will be tweeting – or X-posting – on the day, using the hashtag #HarryPotterAndTheHalfBloodSprints #BlackaddersBarbies #KiltWalkDundee.
