Terra Firma Chambers brave the cold at Sleep in the Park
Members of Terra Firma Chambers braved temperatures as low as -7C on Saturday night for Sleep in the Park, the world’s largest ever charity sleep-out.
Team Terra Firma, comprising Andrew Bowen QC, Graham Dunlop, Roddy MacLeod and clerks Emma Potter and Andrew Veitch joined over 8,000 people sleeping rough in Princes Street Gardens to raise money for Social Bite’s mission to eradicate homelessness in Scotland. The event has already raised an incredible £3.6m with Team TFC managing to reach their fundraising target of £3,000.
Mr Macleod said: “Leaving the Gardens at 6am on Sunday morning, the team reflected on the fact that we were all heading back to our families and loved ones, to homes, warmth, food etc; things we all take for granted. Social Bite’s campaign highlights that these norms are outwith the reach of some who sleep rough or are otherwise homeless.”
Emma Potter, practice manager of Terra Firma added: “We are proud to have participated in this event and grateful to all those who have sponsored us and helped us reach our target. For anyone wishing to contribute to this great cause, our Virgin Money Giving sponsorship page will remain open until Christmas and can be reached via this link.”
