Thorntons gears up for Tour de Tay
All the money raised through registration fees and sponsorship for Tour de Tay will go to the Expanding Horizons Scholarship Fund. This fund provides students with the opportunity to study and work abroad as well as supporting students from around the world who wish to study at Abertay Universtity.
Gordon McBean, partner at Thorntons, said: “As gold sponsors of this year’s event, Thorntons is proud to show its support for this fundraiser.
“I am thrilled to be part of the team participating in this year’s cycle challenge. The training has been intense and everyone has put in a lot of hard work to prepare themselves for it, but I’m sure all of the effort will be worthwhile and it’s great to support Abertay University and its scholarship fund.”
Carol Ann Smith, head of alumni and development at Abertay University, said: “We are delighted with the response to sign-ups so far for the Tour de Tay event which is now in its second year.
“Providing transformational opportunities for our students is very important to us so it is great that our Expanding Horizons Scholarship Fund is this year’s beneficiary.
“We are extremely grateful to our gold sponsors Thorntons, for not only sponsoring the event this year but also registering a team to participate.
“Good luck to all of the participants, see you at the start line!”
