Thorntons Investment Management board appoints non-executive director
Aberdeen businessman Colin Crosby OBE will join the board of Thorntons Investment Management this month, taking on the role of non-executive director.
The qualified solicitor and accountant is the sixth appointment to the board of the Dundee-based investment house and will oversee the delivery of the company’s five-year growth strategy plan.
The move comes as Thorntons Investment Management reaches £350 million in assets under management.
The assets were transferred to the investment house from legal partnership Thorntons in early 2015, creating what was described at the time as a “great foundation from which to grow a multi-faceted investment business”.
Mr Crosby was latterly a consultant at Brewin Dolphin until 2014, before which he ran the private client business of Aberdeen Asset Management.
He was awarded an OBE in 1994 for his services to housing.
He said: “I am pleased to be joining the board of Thorntons Investment Management. It has an ambitious business plan which is already breaking through its targets in record time and the experience and dedication within the team is evident.”
He also chairs ARR Craib Visit Aberdeen and ACSEF, is on the board of Internet for Business, and sits on the Council of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
