Thorntons Investments strengthens discretionary management team
Thorntons Investments has appointed Alasdair Kyle to strengthen its discretionary management team.
An Aberdeen University graduate and former Glenalmond College pupil, he joins as investment manager after seven years with London-based single family office Alder Investment Management. He was previously with Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management.
Thorntons Investments chief executive Stephen Webster said: “Alasdair’s appointment is a fantastic addition to our expanding discretionary management team and underlines our commitment to active asset management and offering a bespoke service for our growing customer base.
“His role centres on taking time to fully understand our clients’ approach to investment and supporting their expectations with the involvement of the wider team of investment managers and financial advisers. He will be meeting with clients across Scotland and raising company profile among fund managers of collective investment schemes.”
Mr Kyle added: “I have enjoyed a successful early career in London and was ambitious to join a firm that is ready for expansion.
“I’d already heard really good things about Thorntons Investments from financial advisers who work there, and it fits the bill perfectly.
“I was delighted to take up the offer of employment at such an exciting time in the firm’s development as it also allows me not only to progress my career but also to return to Scotland where I grew up.”
Thorntons Investments was formed in 1995 by Thorntons Solicitors to offer investment solutions to private clients, but parted from the firm in 2014.
