Thorntons strengthens its relationship with China
The immigration law team at Thorntons hosted a Chinese New Year celebration at its Edinburgh office, aimed at strengthening Scotland’s ties with China.
Representatives from the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on China, Bank of China, and the Deputy Consul General of China joined figures from private business and politics at the event, which took place last week.
The event, aimed at promoting the services Thorntons offers to businesses with an interest in China and South East Asia, saw poem recitals from solicitors Lisa Mannion in Mandarin and Vincent Chung in Cantonese.
Entertainment on the night, celebrating the year of the rooster, also included a traditional lion dance with eight performers.
Jamie Kerr said: “Creating and maintaining strong links with China is absolutely key to driving our economy forward. Events like this are great as they enable us to cement the bonds of friendship between our nations.”
“Our specialist immigration law team at Thorntons offer expert advice on how best to approach the opportunity of linking with the fast growing Chinese economy.
