The trainees are Katie Brown, Rachel Murphy, Daisy Johnston, Freja Nilsson, Laura Minto, Jenni Millar, Jack Chapman, Zara Balling, Cara Collins, Malcolm Marshall, Ross Drysdale, Dean McCombie, Heather Harden, Sophie Fairweather, Milli Datta, and Rachael Hannah.

The new cohort will embark on a comprehensive two-year training programme designed to offer them in-depth exposure to various legal disciplines.

Throughout the programme, the trainees will rotate through different departments, gaining hands-on experience in areas including corporate law, employment law, IP, property, dispute resolution, family law and wills and succession planning.

The programme includes a strong personal development component, offering training in client care and business development, along with opportunities to contribute to the firm’s ESG strategy.

The programme is also designed to foster innovation and adaptability, essential qualities in today’s fast-changing legal industry which is being transformed by new and emerging technologies.

Thorntons recently announced it is developing a legal tech hub in partnership with the University of Dundee to bring together students, academics and practitioners and develop new products for the profession.
