Three appointments to Balfour and Manson’s private client team in Aberdeen
Balfour and Manson has added three new members of staff to its private client team in Aberdeen with the appointment of new senior associate Marcia Johnstone, executry paralegal Sarah Rennie and legal secretary Dawn Ashcroft.
Ms Johnstone joins Balfour and Manson as a senior associate, working with Greg Lawson, who was promoted to partner in the private client team in April this year.
She has extensive experience advising clients in the administration of executry estates, including inheritance tax issues, the preparation of wills, including succession planning, the granting of powers of attorney and attorney administration.
Ms Rennie joins as executry paralegal. Based in Aberdeen, she will also work with private client colleagues in Balfour and Manson’s Edinburgh office.
She has spent almost 25 years working in the legal profession taking on a variety of roles in her early career before specialising in private client work. In 2017, she qualified as a paralegal specialising in wills and executries gaining Law Society accreditation shortly after.
Julie Clark Spence, who heads up Balfour and Manson’s Aberdeen office, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have Marcia, Sarah and Dawn join us and how exciting it is to see the team grow so much in such a short space of time.
“We have seen a surge of private client work coming through the door this year particularly with the expansion of the firm into Portlethen earlier this year. With the new hires in place, we can further accelerate our ambitions for our private client portfolio.”
