Three-way contest for new Dean of Faculty
The election for the new Dean of the Faculty of Advocates is shaping to be a three-way contest between Roddy Dunlop QC, Peter Gray, QC, and Gordon Jackson QC.
Nominations for the men have been submitted, and while a nomination can be withdrawn until noon on Thursday, 16 June, preparations are being made for a ballot with the three names.
Meetings at which the candidates can address members, and be questioned, will be held in Edinburgh (Laigh Hall) on Wednesday, 22 June, at 6pm, and in Glasgow (Royal Faculty of Procurators Library) on Thursday, 23 June, at 6:30pm.
An online ballot will be open from 9:30am on Friday, 24 June, until 3pm on Tuesday, 28 June, when the result will be announced.
