Times covers SLN’s Lord Carloway interview

The Times has today picked up SLN’s Annual Review interview with the Lord President, Lord Carloway: Scots legal system is centuries out of date, its highest judge complains.

Today’s leader meanwhile states that “Lord Carloway’s call to examine the ‘underlying principles’ governing Scottish criminal law and practice is a welcome one. Modernisation is not a goal to be pursued for its own the sake, but the temptation to cling to past orthodoxy for the sake of tradition must also be resisted.”
