TLT secures unique licence for gambling platform
TLT Solicitors has secured a unique remote betting operating licence for a gambling platform.
Betsold’s patented platform allows a new concept in the online betting industry to be adopted by any bookmaker with an online presence. It is expected to launch in early 2017 and is believed to be the first licence secured for a business model of its type.
The TLT team included partner and head of licensing (Scotland) Stephen McGowan and licensing legal director Niall Hassard.
Mr McGowan said: “Having helped our client’s creative business model secure a licence from the UK Gambling Commission, we are looking forward to working with Betsold in the future and wish them all the best in the next stage of their growth.
“The application process was complex and required innovative thinking from all parties involved. We are grateful to the Gambling Commission for their assistance and patience as this unusual application was processed.”
Director of Betsold, Nicola Young, said: “We just couldn’t have got to this point without the expert assistance of TLT. We are very grateful to Stephen and his team for helping us get the business through a very complicated regulatory process and we now look forward to going to market.”
