Trio of lawyers take up traineeships at Watermans

Three newly appointed trainee solicitors have beaten hundreds of applicants to secure coveted traineeships with Scotland’s fastest-growing personal injury specialists.

Watermans Accident Claims and Care has welcomed Mollie Simpson to its Edinburgh office, whilst Chris Miller and Craig Armstrong have joined the Glasgow office which opened last year. As well as the trainees, newly qualified solicitor Lewis Clark will be joining Watermans. Trainee solicitor Tanya Kaur completes her qualifications this month and will be retained by the firm. The new recruits take the total number of employees across the business to 35.

Managing director Scott Whyte said the new addition of the new recruits underlined the intention of the company to grow organically and offer traineeships to as many industry entrants as possible on an annual basis.

“I have previously highlighted the difficulty up-and-coming members of our profession face getting a foot in the door due to the continued rise in graduates outpacing the availability of jobs. This was underlined by the enormous amount of interest and hundreds of applications we received for these trainee positions.

“However, over the past few years the company has enjoyed strong, sustained growth and this has helped put us in a position to bring more trainees than ever before into the fold.

“Everyone at Watermans knows the hard work that goes in to securing qualifications in our profession and we are committed to doing all we can to give the brightest and best graduates a chance to kick-on with their career in law.”
