Turcan Connell welcomes new senior associate

Turcan Connell is celebrating its fifth anniversary in Glasgow by recruiting an experienced land and property specialist to service the west of Scotland.

The hire of Stuart Gibb as senior associate from Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie gives Turcan Connell full coverage in Glasgow across its four key practice areas, from its office in St Vincent Street.

Mr Gibb, who is working with residential and rural clients from Dumfries & Galloway to the north of Argyll, said there were many issues exercising those clients - including the impact of the Land & Buildings Transaction Tax, and a range of matters arising from land reform and community empowerment legislation.

He added: “There is a lot happening for anyone who owns land and property and it can be hard for them to keep pace. Sometimes, it’s just about sitting down, explaining the changes and reassuring clients. There is considerable uncertainty over the impact of Brexit and potential further constitutional change, but as I travel around the west of Scotland meeting clients, I also find a cautious optimism about the future.”
