Vialex advises on sale of accountancy practice Springfords to Baldwins
Vialex has advised accountancy practice Springfords on its sale to the UK firm Baldwins.
Springfords, which provides a range of services from tax advice to wealth management, will join Baldwins’ network of local accountancy firms under a deal funded by HgCapital.
The five partners, Fergus Kerr, Carol Wright, Patricia Reekie, Fiona Donaldson and Jimmy Hair will remain with the practice, which operates from Edinburgh and Eskbank. It will continue to trade under its existing name.
Baldwins is part of the CogitalGroup, an international business services company providing support to entrepreneurs and managers seeking long term growth.
CogitalGroup was established in 2016 and is led by group executive chairman John Connolly, the former global chairman and UK chief executive officer of Deloitte.
Baldwins was set up in Walsall, West Midlands by John Baldwin, in 1971.
Keith Anderson, chief executive of Vialex, said: “We are delighted to have helped Fergus and his partners in this deal, which will further enhance the Springfords service capabilities and offers an exciting future for the partners, staff and clients of the firm.”
