WA Legal opens for business
Solicitor Waqqas Ashraf has founded his own law firm – WA Legal.
The new practice, which operates nationwide, deals with criminal defence and road traffic law.
Mr Ashraf, principal director, graduated in law from the University of Edinburgh. He obtained his diploma in professional legal practice from the University of Glasgow.
He regularly appears in courts across Scotland and deals with all types of cases, from minor speeding cases in the Justice of the Peace court to murder cases in the High Court.
Fluent in Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi, he is also a former council member of the Law Society of Scotland where he represented the constituency of Paisley, Greenock and Kilmarnock.
Mr Ashraf is currently also an independent disciplinary panel member for Scottish Athletics and UK Athletics and is a committee member of the Pakistan Association, Edinburgh & East of Scotland, which operates one of the largest Mosques and Community Centres in the capital.
