WBD energy sector team advises on Scottish energy deal
Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has advised waste management and recycling company Augean plc on its acquisition of the EcoCentre in Peterhead from US oil services firm Halliburton.
Located in Aberdeenshire at the heart of the oil and gas supply chain, the EcoCentre provides the North Sea oil and gas industry with waste processing services from rig to final disposal. The acquisition will enhance Augean’s ability to manage oilfield waste material and provide further waste treatment processes for a broad range of offshore materials including drill cuttings and slop waters.
The WBD team advising on the transaction was led by legal director Iain Pritty and managing associate Paul Kenneth who provided corporate and real estate expertise respectively.
Mr Pritty said: “This is the latest transaction we have advised Augean on and we’re thrilled to have once again worked with them on this high profile acquisition and exciting development for their North Sea business. Our understanding of the energy sector, coupled with our strong corporate and real estate expertise, particularly in Scotland, meant we were able to provide the best possible outcome for the client.”
Mark Fryer, executive director and group finance director at Augean, added: “The EcoCentre will bring a wealth of benefits for our clients and help us achieve our vision of a waste-free and socially responsible circular economy for the sector. We’re very grateful for the work put in by the whole team at WBD whose experience and first-rate legal advice has played an important role in helping us achieve a successful transaction.”
