Westwater advocate takes on Strictly-style challenge
Kirsty Malcolm KC of Westwater Advocates is taking to the dancefloor next month in a Strictly Come Dancing-themed challenge to raise funds for Maggie’s Centres.
The 11th annual Just Dance for Maggie’s competition is taking place on Saturday 18th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
The now sold-out event will see eight individuals paired with a professional to compete, not for the glory of winning the Glitter Ball, but to raise much-needed funds to support people with cancer and their families and friends.
Ms Malcolm is taking on the challenge with professional dance partner Kevin Nicoll, fitting training sessions in around her busy work diary.
Dancing an American Smooth, with ‘death drop’, floor spin and challenging lifts, she has found the experience “both exhilarating and terrifying” and anticipates that “the nerves will be jangling just as much as if she were appearing before the Inner House”.
With only weeks to go, Ms Malcolm is keen to raise more funds for the cause. Donations of any size would be welcomed through her JustGiving page.
