Westwater Advocates sponsor Maggie’s Centre
Westwater Advocates has announced that from 1 April 2016 it will be supporting Maggie’s Centre, Edinburgh.
Maggie’s offers practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. More and more people seem to be afflicted by cancer, even during their working lives.
Help is offered free at the drop-in centre at the Western General Hospital in Crewe Road South. The centre is in a beautifully designed converted cottage. It has welcoming, professionally trained staff and volunteers to discuss wide ranges of issues arising. Group and individual support is available to anyone with any kind of cancer at any stage of their treatment, and beyond.
Maggie’s Centre – http://www.maggiescentres.org.uk/ – is a valuable resource for anyone affected by cancer.
Mark Cooper, Maggie’s Edinburgh Centre fundraising manager said: “I am delighted that Westwater Advocates has chosen to support Maggie’s Edinburgh. Maggie’s relies entirely on donations from the community and companies to support the 20,000 visits that our Edinburgh centre receives each year.
“2016 is a hugely exciting year for the centre; with a capital and revenue fundraising campaign underway the support from the team at Westwater is vital to help us support everyone who needs us.”
Westwater Advocates stable director Calum MacNeill QC added: “Maggie’s Centres are a wonderful and much needed source of strength and encouragement for many people who are in most need of it, be they patients themselves or those close to them. I am delighted that we at Westwater Advocates have decided to help the Centre at the Western do so much to help others.”
