Westwater Advocates supports law students to attend environmental law conference

The students, from the Universities of Edinburgh and Dundee were offered places following the success of this initiative last year.

Dundee student Tanya Jones said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to attend this conference, at a crucial time for our environment both locally and globally. Many thanks to Westwater Advocates for making this possible.”

Edinburgh student Fatima Abdulla commented: “Attending the UKELA conference has been an amazing opportunity to gain awareness of current and pressing environmental issues, as well as their impact over various industries. The initiatives and opportunities showcased are inspiring, and I hope to share this with my peers and mobilize environmental action at university and beyond.”

Sonal Priya, also from Edinburgh University, added: “An opportunity to understand environmental law, its issues and solutions under one roof has been rewarding. The networking opportunities with different organisations, advocates and professors while understanding the practical applications of environmental law and the experience has been amazing. Thank you again for providing me with this opportunity.”

Clerk Sheila Westwater said: “The stable is proud to be associated with this excellent event. It is particularly pleasing to be able to lend our support to some of the young lawyers of the future.”
