Winners of Scottish Universities Law Institute scholarships announced

The winners of the first Scottish Universities Law Institute (SULI) scholarships have been announced.

Edinburgh Law School’s Shona Warwick and Aberdeen University’s Chike Emedosi are the inaugural recipients of the scholarships.

Ms Warwick is undertaking a PhD on ‘The Lease and the Licence in Scots law: A historical-doctrinal analysis’ under the supervision of Professor Laura MacGregor, Lorna Richardson and Scott Wortley.

Mr Emedosi’s current research focuses on the creation of security interests in securitisations after the global financial crisis: a comparative analysis of the law in England, Scotland, and France.

SULI was set up in the 1960s to fund treatises on Scots law, and each Scottish law school is a member. SULI publications provide definitive texts on modern Scots law written by experts in their respective fields.
