WJM lawyers tackle 20,000 minute charity fitness challenge
Team members from Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP recently completed a fitness challenge aimed to promote physical wellbeing in the workplace.
Co-ordinated by Alex Mudie, a senior solicitor in WJM’s corporate team, the Fortnight of Fitness challenged staff to complete 20,000 minutes of activity over the course of two weeks.
Solicitors and staff smashed their exercise target, clocking in an impressive 374 hours (22,440 minutes) of movement.
Alison Marshall, partner at WJM, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our Fortnight of Fitness challenge and proud of the effort put in by staff to not only reach, but exceed the target of 20,000 minutes. It was a great way to promote physical activity and boost morale at the same time.
“During the course of the challenge we also invited donations to the RNID which works to make life fully inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus, and, so far, we have collected almost £250.”
Most staff opted for walking, running or cycling in order to meet the target. A total of 21 team members took part, averaging over 1,000 minutes each, and the top five overall time recorders were Martin Tickle, Stuart McMillan, Andrew McFarlane, Rebecca Ellen and John Grant.
Martin Tickle was top time recorder, clocking an impressive 34 hours and 15 minutes.
