Woman accused of causing Lord Lyon fear and alarm
A woman is accused of causing the Lord Lyon fear and alarm with her behaviour over 16 months, The Courier reports.
Shuque Xie, from Kirkcaldy, appeared a Forfar Sheriff Court accused of refusing to leave Glamis Castle in Angus without an audience with Dr Joseph Morrow QC, the Lord Lyon King of Arms.
The charge states that Ms Xie repeatedly emailed the press office of the Scottish Episcopal Church as well as the Parliament and various universities in Scotland between July 15 2015 and December 1 2016. She then sent an apology but requested a meeting with the Lord Lyon, attending Glamis castle and refusing to leave until she was told where he would be.
Dr Morrow is the incumbent of the Chapel of Glamis Castle.
Ms Xie refused the services of solicitor Michael Boyd and said she did not need a Chinese translator, having lived in Scotland for 17 years.
She pleaded not guilty to a charge of failing to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on February 7.
The case will call again on June 6 and a trial is set for June 21.
Sheriff Alison McKay said: “I am going to continue the intermediate diet in both cases in order for you to reconsider legal representation in these matters which in my view would be appropriate.”
