Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP makes partner promotion
Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP has announced the promotion of Graham Murray to partner.
Mr Murray is a solicitor and chartered financial planner at WJM, and is one of the only solicitors in Scotland to hold this qualification. He provides advice on investments, retirement planning, tax and estate planning, business succession planning, as well as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
He is also a qualified trust & estate practitioner and manages investment portfolios on behalf of a range of clients with specialist expertise in advising charities and third sector organisations.
Mr Murray joined WJM in 2001 as a trainee and qualified in 2003 during which time he joined the firm’s private client team. In 2015 he was promoted to senior associate.
WJM chief executive Liam Entwistle said: “I’m delighted at Graham’s new position. He has been with us since he was a trainee and is another excellent example of WJMs ability to grow and nurture its own talent, and to provide them with an excellent platform to carve out their own business.
“Graham is the first partner to be promoted from our senior associate career path. It’s vital that we provide all of our people with clear routes of advancement in terms of skill, qualifications and position, and so we work hard on that. It also reflects the strong growth of WJM’s in house wealth planning team of which Graham is part.”
Mr Murray added: “I am delighted to be joining the partnership at what is an exciting time, during a period of expansion for WJM. The need for quality, joined up legal, financial and tax advice has never been more pressing as changes to tax and pensions have brought greater flexibility and complexity to these matters.
“I look forward to continuing work with individuals, families, business owners and charities across Scotland to develop and manage a financial plan that meets their own unique objectives.”
