Young lawyers to respond to consultation on reforming legal services
The Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association (SYLA) has launched a survey of members to help inform its response to the Scottish government’s consultation on reforming legal services.
The consultation will close on Christmas Eve, so the association is seeking submissions from members no later than 20 December 2021, providing time to compile and submit the SYLA’s response.
Laila Kennedy, vice-president of the SYLA, told Scottish Legal News that the outcome of the government consultation “could drastically change the future of the Scottish legal profession”.
The Law Society of Scotland’s executive director of regulation, Rachel Wood, and executive director of external relations, Kevin Lang, will meet with SYLA members next Wednesday to share the Law Society’s view on the consultation.
More information about next Wednesday’s meeting is available on Eventbrite and the SYLA survey can be accessed by clicking here.
