Yvonne Evans elected chair of Law Society’s Board of Examiners
Yvonne Evans, a senior lecturer in law at University of Dundee, has been elected chair of the the Law Society of Scotland Board of Examiners, succeeding Richard Whitecross.
The board oversees the assessment of lawyers re-qualifying into Scotland, as well as setting the Law Society professional exams, which are an alternative to the LLB.
She said: “I look forward to working with vice chair, Isla Callender, my fellow examiners and Education and Admissions staff at LSS.
“I’m especially happy to be taking up a role that supports alternative routes to qualification, and this is timely as I finish my final term as trustee of the Lawscot Foundation this month. I have learnt a great deal from my fellow trustees and have been privileged to be involved with this wonderful charity.”
