Sarah Mitchell, a solicitor at Macnabs, has become a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP). Ms Mitchell was recently awarded a STEP Worldwide Excellence Award for obtaining the top scoring mark in Scotland for the wills and executries: law and practice examination.

Kym Samson has been promoted to director at Duncan and McConnell Solicitors in Dundee. Ms Samson graduated from the University of Dundee in 2013 and joined Duncan and McConnell Solicitors shortly thereafter. She became an associate in the firm in 2016.

Four judicial members have been appointed to the Scottish Civil Justice Council. The new members, Lady Carmichael and Sheriff Way, took up their three-year posts on 1 July 2019.
