Dispute Resolution Lawyer, Edinburgh



Due to a period of growth, we are recruiting for a lawyer to join our team. The team deal with a range of commercial and other civil disputes for clients in the private public and third sectors, including high value and complex litigated cases in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court.

This role will focus mainly on Public Sector litigation, supporting Jennifer Jack, Partner, who has recognised expertise in Public and Administrative law. Your work will principally involve advising and representing clients on public and administrative law issues, including advising clients on legislation, statutory interpretation and the powers and duties of public bodies and representing clients in court challenges such as Judicial Review and Appeals and in public inquiries.

We are seeking a candidate with at least 2-3 years’ experience of working in a dispute resolution role, including Court of Session experience. Experience of litigation involving the Public Sector/ Public & Administrative Law would be an advantage but is not essential.

You will be a self-starter, capable of dealing with a wide variety of client enquiries, with excellent inter-personal and technical skills, attention to detail and experience conducting their own advocacy. You should also be able to work confidently in a fast-moving environment and able to handle a challenging caseload often with tight-timescales set by courts.
