Personal Injury Solicitor, three to six years' PQE

Harper Macleod has an opening for a solicitor to join one of Scotland’s largest and leading insurance teams. You’ll join a talented team, which is highly recommended in both Chambers UK and The Legal 500 and which includes 4 Law Society of Scotland Accredited Specialists.

We provide legal advice on complex insurance, litigation and risk matters for corporate clients in every sector, including some of the UK’s largest private companies, as well as public sector organisations and the insurance industry.

We offer a complete service, incorporating both contentious and non-contentious experience, and provide extensive technical expertise in insurance law and risk management. We deal with either the pursuing or defending of all aspects of claims, including employers’ liability, public liability and road traffic claims.

In this role, you will be responsible for your own caseload which will include high-value complex cases and regular appearances throughout courts in Scotland. In addition you will work within small sub-teams working on high value complex cases. Ideally you will have experience in handling Employers’ and Public Liability cases. You will work with a variety of insurance companies, private individuals and companies in connection with litigated and non-litigated claims.

Let your ambitions and ours go hand in hand

Harper Macleod’s culture is the sum of the actions of the people who make up our business – it’s built around taking calculated risks and pushing for innovative solutions. You know the law, but you also know that there’s much more to being a lawyer than that.

You know that doing things the right way is always the best way – the right things for clients, colleagues and our communities. We will never compromise on this.

We also embrace flexibility – including when and where our people work.

We are a business that has been named Law Firm of the Year eight times and ranked in The Times Scotland Best Law Firms 2020. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, an active colleague engagement & CSR programme and the opportunity to develop your career.
