We need two lawyers to play an exciting and influential role in helping to grow Scotland’s economy.

Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s main economic development agency. We support Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally. The difference you’ll make

SE’s legal team work in a dynamic and interesting environment, providing legal and commercial support to all the parts of SE which drive Scotland’s economic growth. Our plans to grow Scotland’s economy means we need two solutions-focused, commercially-aware solicitors in our Glasgow office.

Key areas of legal support include real estate, construction, joint ventures, corporate, commercial, state aid and procurement. The role includes working on high-profile projects, such as Barclays’ new global hub and the National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland.

Our solicitors work on multiple projects, delivering a responsive and high-quality legal service. A focus on productivity, innovation and collaborative and partnership working allows us to do this. Creative thinking, good project management and developing practical legal solutions will be your contribution towards helping us achieve our goals.

There are two full-time positions available, though we’ll consider alternative working arrangements for the right candidates.

The qualities you’ll bring

You’ll be a fully qualified solicitor with a practising certificate. You will have experience in some of the key legal practice areas mentioned above.

You’ll be a skilful communicator and able to influence people at all levels. Political awareness and a good understanding of our public regulatory framework will be an asset, though not essential.
