Trainee Solicitor, Inverness – Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP

We are growing firm, currently with 31 partners specialising in areas of private client, commercial property, corporate, commercial dispute resolution, renewable energy, healthcare, telecoms and family businesses. We’ve offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dunfermline and Dunblane.

The role

We are looking for a Trainee Solicitor to join our Inverness office in September 2019. The traineeship lasts two years and consists of four six month seats across our practice groups. Trainees are given real responsibility from day one in a stimulating working environment. There will be client contact and a structured training programme covering PEAT 2 outcomes.

The candidate

You should have a strong business focus, having some work experience, not necessarily legal, but be able to demonstrate customer service skills, office skills and an ability to work in a team. You must either have a LLB with honours with a minimum of a 2:1 pass grade or a first degree with honours and the accelerated LLB. In addition you must also hold a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice by summer 2019. You should also be creative and efficient, passionate about service, empathetic, intellectually tough, have a good sense of humour, be results driven and a problem solver, a good communicator and a careful and through planner. You will join our cohort of 2019 trainees who have already been recruited in the firm’s central belt offices and although you will be based in our Inverness office, there will be opportunities to attend training and other events in our other offices.
