Child law litigation solicitor (NQ to 3 years’ PQE)

JK Cameron Solicitors is a renowned Scotland-wide firm specialising in child law, with a focus on adoption and permanence cases, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. We are seeking a highly motivated solicitor to join our fast-paced Child Law Practice. This post will be most suitable to solicitors who are newly qualified to 3 years’ PQE. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced solicitors whilst managing an independent caseload from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and court representation in matters related to child law, including residence, contact and parental rights issues.

- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including petitions, writs, affidavits and motions.

- Assist clients in understanding their legal rights and obligations.

- Attend court hearings and Children’s Hearings and represent clients in various legal proceedings.

- Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, and other professionals to support clients’ needs.

- Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a caseload.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Previous experience in family law or child law is advantageous but not necessary.

- Ability to travel to courts throughout the country.
