The Role:

As a Solicitor is our Dispute Resolution department, we will require you to manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes and to represent clients in courts across Scotland. The ideal candidate will be client focused and proactive with a positive attitude and flexible approach. You will be strong team player with excellent communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Acting on behalf of clients in the resolution of contentious issues, including conducting hearings in the Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session.
• To provide advocacy in tribunals, arbitration and mediation
• Taking statements, attending consultations, drafting pleadings, instructing expert witnesses, preparing cases for proofs/debates
• Actively participating in business development opportunities
• Working collaboratively and flexibly with other team members
• Working closely with experts and ensuring counsel are instructed accordingly where required
• Supporting the partners to continuously drive forward business opportunities

Requirements:

• Strong work ethic and team player
• 3+ years PQE
• Strong technical knowledge
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently
• Positive outlook
• Proactive and responsive to client’s demands
• An ability to liaise effectively with peers and clients at various levels of seniority
