Employment lawyer

McGrade & Co is a specialist practice based in Glasgow city centre dealing exclusively with employment law issues. We cover a full range of employment law work. We act mainly for individuals, but also for a range of small and medium-sized employers.

Summary of Role

To provide legal advice and representation to a wide range of clients, primarily individuals, but also small and medium-sized businesses.  We are looking for someone with experience of employment law, although we may consider candidates with little or no experience in employment law, but who have a genuine interest in moving into this area and have the skills that suits them for this role.

This role is likely to be more suited to someone who is about to qualify or who is up to two years post qualified. However, we are very happy to consider applications from candidates at any stage of their careers.

Key Tasks

Advising clients on disciplinary and grievance issues.

Negotiating severance packages on behalf of clients.

Advising clients on settlement agreements.

Drafting applications and responses to applications to the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal.

Conducting case management preliminary hearings, preliminary hearings and final hearings.
