E&W Land and Property Lawyer

We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer qualified in English and Welsh law to join our Land & Property team. While it would be ideal if candidates were dual qualified (Scottish and English & Welsh), that is not essential, and we are looking for English and Welsh qualified individuals with a minimum of three years post qualification experience. The successful candidate will be an experienced conveyancer (including residential conveyancing) having sound practical and commercial knowledge of English and Welsh property transactions. Part time working would be considered.

Our Land and Property team provides advice on all aspects of rural and urban property transactions. Along with handling the purchase, sale and leasing of property, we also advise on all legal aspects of managing and financing property.

The role will principally be based in our Edinburgh office, but the Firm supports a hybrid working approach through our Smarter Working policy.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to handle a broad range of conveyancing matters, including the sale, purchase and leasing of urban and rural properties in England and Wales and generally providing advice with regard to any conveyancing matters that arise in the course of the management of English and Welsh property.

The urban property work will include residential conveyancing, ranging from properties of a modest value to high value properties in London and other large cities. For dual qualified candidates, a similar range of work would be expected relative to Scots law property work.

You will be self-sufficient, commercially aware and able to manage a wide variety of challenging work with minimum supervision.

In providing advice to clients, you will work with other private client experts to ensure that fully integrated holistic advice is given to our clients.

Turcan Connell will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to build on your career in an environment with an unrivalled reputation. The Firm is committed to developing talent and provides outstanding training opportunities within a collegiate working environment.

Skills/Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, you will be a strong team player with sound practical property law experience (ideally having practised in England and Wales) and enthusiasm to develop your technical skills and legal career in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
