Family Solicitor
Location: Kilmarnock
Salary: Competitive
Working Pattern: Full Time- Permanent (Part Time will be considered)
PQE: 3 years +
Galloway & Elsby Legal is a niche Family and Child Law Firm, offering a full range of Family and Child Law services. The Firm consists of a small Team, headed by Donna Elsby, who is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Family and Child Law. We are a busy litigation practice and regularly appear at Courts and Children’s Hearings throughout the Ayrshire area. On occasion, we service central belt Courts too but minimum travel will be required in this role.
Due to expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Family and Child Lawyer, with a minimum of 3yrs PQE. The candidate will be expected to work with minimum supervision on their own caseload and to support junior members of staff. The role would be perfect for someone who is keen on appearing in Court regularly and looking to hone their skills, working towards specialist accreditations in both Family and Child law. There will be ongoing support and opportunity for career development.
Candidates would expect to have experience in advising clients on: Separation, Divorce, Cohabitation claims, Contact and Residence disputes, Children’s Referrals, Permanence and Adoption cases. However, additional training and support will be provided where necessary.
We deal with a range of clients, and regularly receive word of mouth referrals. The candidate will have networking opportunities for personal and business development. We offer services to both private paying clients and legal aid clients. Prior working knowledge of Civil and Children’s legal aid are essential. Support staff will provide assistance with this.
