Private Client Solicitor

We are looking for a solicitor to join our fast-growing private client team in Aberdeen.

Purpose

To service the client requirements within the Private Client Team in Aberdeen

Key responsibilities and tasks

Candidate will specialise in private client work, with experience of advising on and preparing various types of wills, powers of attorney and the administration of executry estates. A working understanding of trusts would be preferred but not essential.

The candidate needs to work as part of a busy team, and should be able to work self-sufficiently whilst being in a position to update their Line Manager regularly as to progress on matters and workload.

Decision-making authority and accountability

The level of knowledge of the person who accepts the role will determine the level of autonomous decision making and the level of contact with the client. A junior member of the team will expect to be supervised, with work closely monitored.

The candidate should be capable of taking on their own caseload and taking decisions on the merits and value of each case, whilst being aware of economic considerations that will influence the advice given.

Primary interfaces

The candidate will be working with colleagues in the private client team in Aberdeen and the wider PC team across the firm where necessary. They will be interacting with colleagues across the offices, as well as direct involvement with their clients in relation to dealing with their work and providing updates to them as necessary.

Required knowledge, skills & experience

NQ or 1 year qualified solicitor with experience of will and POA preparation and executry administration.
