Solicitor (1-4 years’ PQE)

Do you find yourself wanting more from your role? Wanting to do work that truly makes a difference in people’s lives? If so, maybe it’s time for a change.  Maybe it’s time to consider whether the legal work you do matters, because in the role we have for you, it really matters to the people you’ll help.

Our firm continues to go from strength to strength and, owing to a period of substantial growth, we are currently recruiting for a solicitor with 1-4 years’ PQE to join our Non-Accidental Injury team, on a full-time, permanent basis – the successful candidate could be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. We think you could be that solicitor.

We understand it can be very difficult for people to contact a solicitor and speak about the abuse they suffered. In some cases, it may have taken years, even decades, for a survivor to come to terms with what happened before communicating about their suffering.

At Digby Brown, our Non-Accidental Team specialises in helping people affected by these traumatic and life-changing incidents. Not just to help them secure compensation but to help them access the best support and services to take back control of their lives.

We are committed to providing the best possible independent legal advice so survivors are empowered by choice and can make informed decisions.

In addition to this, as part of the team, you will provide invaluable support to victims of crimes of violence and harassment – not just by securing them compensation, which is vital due to the life-altering nature of the injuries sustained by these people, but also by guiding them through one of the most traumatic times in their lives, displaying empathy and helping them find closure.

In joining the team, you will benefit from its expertise, experience, resources, and reputation, as you embark upon an exciting new chapter in your career in a very challenging and rewarding area of PI law.

We want you to ask yourself…

• Am I an enthusiastic individual with strong, client-focused litigation skills?
• Do I have some experience in general personal injury law or civil litigation? Or have I been working in commercial litigation and am now looking to move into an area of law where I can make a real difference to clients?
• Do I have a keen eye for detail, the ability to act on my own initiative and a strong desire to help others, with the ability to display an empathetic and proactive approach in dealing with clients?
• Can I be a team player - someone who can manage their own case holding, whilst supporting others in a team with more complex cases?

If the above resonates, and helping people really matters to you, we want you to apply for this post. To do so, please send your CV and covering letter to David Hendrie, by e-mail at recruit@digbybrown.co.uk.
