We are looking for a solicitor to join the Property, Planning & Infrastructure team in Council’s Legal and Governance Services. The team provides legal support across a wide range of functions, including planning, estates, roads, housing, flood protection, environmental health, environmental services and community planning. The role is for an experienced construction law solicitor to assist in both construction contract drafting and negotiation and some dispute resolution work. You will work closely with commercial property solicitors as well as architects, quantity surveyors and civil engineers in the Property team, and with Housing and Planning professionals to deliver the Council’s ambitious Capital Plan. The role also involves wider contract and procurement work and work in supporting the Council’s Flood Protection work and the work of the Housing, Roads and Planning authority.

The Person

This is an opportunity to join an experienced team of property, commercial and regulatory solicitors as part of the in-house service in Perth & Kinross Council. You will be part of a supportive and dynamic team which is committed to delivering high quality advice and support to clients.

You will be professionally curious and able to think creatively to support clients. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to find solutions to problems. You will be able to work collaboratively and closely with those from other disciplines such as social workers and education professionals, developing trusted, respectful relationships.

You must be a qualified solicitor in Scotland, with a full, unrestricted practising certificate issued by the Law Society of Scotland.
