Martha Quinn, one of Scotland's top pension lawyers, has passed away. Ms Quinn spent the past six years working at the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) in London, having previously held a number of positions in legal and financial firms in Scotland and London over a nearly three-decade career.
Argyll lawyer Ruben Murdanaigum has passed away after collapsing in the street. Originally from Mauritius, where he grew up in poverty, Mr Murdanaigum qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 1980 and founded his own practice, Rubens Solicitors, in 2000.
The Law Society of Scotland has paid tribute to its former president Iain MacMillan CBE, who passed away on 8 May 2019. Alison Atack, president of the Law Society, said: “We are very saddened to hear of the death of Iain MacMillan and extend our condolences to his family at this very sad time.
